Crafty Liam

I try to do my best to keep Liam busy. I have always loved making crafts since I was a little girl. I remember how much fun I had making crafts with my Mom that I want to pass along the same special memories to Liam. Now that Liam is almost 3 years old I have to admit its getting more fun! I find the crafts I can now choose are a lot more hands on for him to do. He loves to finger paint, color and use the glue stick. I hope to introduce scissors sometime soon. I'm sure he'll do just fine he's very good at picking things up quickly.

I thought I'd post some of his crafts he's made starting with the most recent to back when he first started around 18 months or so. Enjoy!!

June 24 2011 we celebrated the premiere to the sequel of Liam's favorite movie... CARS 2!
Liam went to the movie theater for the first time and saw an early showing of the movie. But before Liam did a few fun crafts to celebrate!

Liam likes to paint with water colors too.

Spring Birds Nest March 2011
Liam loved making this bird nest. It was so easy and fun! We just painted a small paper plate, added glue and yarn and made the birds out of puff balls and glued "gu gu eyes" (as Liam calls them) and a beak.

Free Art AKA Finger painting
Liam's favorite as you can see why...loves to get messy!

Ground Hog Day Feb. 2011
It was a very cold winter so we tried to keep warm inside and made lots of crafts. One of my favorites was this Ground Hog pop up we made. It was so cute! Liam also made a little ground hog out of a toilet paper roll. Liam named him Sammy.

Christmas 2010 Liam made lots of crafts. Two of my favorites were his first Christmas ornament he made with pom poms & this cute wreath. I also made an advent calendar for Liam this year using little stockings. I numbered them 1-25 and had an activity for each day. I also put a matchbox car in each stocking as a prize. It was a hit and I plan to continue it for years to come.

Easter 2011

This year Easter was lots of fun with Liam! he was old enough to understand a bit more about the meaning and he had a blast going on Easter Egg hunts. We went to two this year. One with our Moms group called KinderMoms and one at home in the back yard. I've been feeling so sick with the pregnancy but I was able to attend church with Liam while Chris stayed home and cooked a great dinner and helped hide Easter Eggs in the back yard. Liam is such a sweetheart! He loved going outside and enjoying the beautiful day hunting for his eggs! This video says it all !

Liam's play group Kindermoms had their annual Easter Egg Hunt which we looked forward to every year. This year it was held at Torrey Park. Liam had lots of fun! I was so sick with morning sickness I remember trying to enjoy it but feeling like so sick to my stomach.

Beach Vacation at Port Royal

We had our first beach vacation to Port Aransas, TX. We stayed at Port Royal resort in a beautiful condo right on the beach. There were Three HUGE swimming pools with a water slide and all the amenities you could imagine. We enjoyed it although Liam & I were sick the entire vacation with sore throats and a fever. I also wasn't feeling well with the pregnancy. But we made the best of it and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the beach. We were not impressed with the gulf. Lots of sea weed and debris and we didn't like that they allowed cars on the beach either. Florida beaches are much nicer. Liam enjoyed playing in the sand the most. He wasn't a fan of the waves because of the seaweed that kept coming in. Liam loved the beach though It was his first time ever seeing the ocean! We plan to make it a yearly vacation destination for our family in the future.

Liam's 2nd Birthday!

Today was Liam's birthday. We had fun family day together to celebrate. We were so grateful that Grammy was able to visit during Liam's birthday. She flew from TN to spend the day with Liam and he loved having his Grammy here. It was a very special day for me too because I was Baptized at church in the morning. We then took Liam out for a birthday lunch at our favorite restaurants call the Buddy's Backyard BBQ. We ate outside on the big deck and Liam enjoyed playing at their playground. We came home and Liam took a long nap. He had lots of fun the day before at his party but he was very tired. We had dinner and birthday cake when we sang Happy Birthday to Liam and let him open presents from his family. He received such wonderful birthday presents. One gift he really loved was from his great Aunt Bonnie. She sent him some very cool crayola beginners markers and books that he absolutely LOVED. It was a special evening and we are so blessed to have a wonderful little man to call our own. We're absolutely amazed of all he's accomplished this past year and can't wait to see what's to come this year!

Let's Party I'm Two!

Today was Liam's 2nd Birthday Party! He had a blast! Thanks to so many of his friends that came out to celebrate his big day. We were also so happy that Liam's Grammy flew in from TN to attend his party.
The party was held at 10 a.m. at Landa Park. Liam enjoyed sharing the spotlight with his girlfriend Reagan who also was turning 2. Her birthday was  on the 27th. We had a jack and Jill kind of party together. I highly recommend this idea for kids this age. They don't mind sharing their day and it made it so much easier planning etc. It's also easier on the guests who would attend both parties they just come to one big party instead.
The theme was a beach/summer party. With the summer soon coming to an end and the kids going back to school, we thought it would be great to have one last summer party! Each guest had a sand bucket filled with goodies like bubbles, gummy fishies, beach theme stickers, a sticker theme, mini beach ball etc. We had fun games like a scavenger where the kids had to find sea animals and put them in their bucket. We also had a stickers for them to decorate their sand buckets, and the most fun was the parachute which the kids absolutely loved tossing the mini beach balls up and down on the parachute. The weather was perfect! The kids enjoyed playing on the playground nearby too.  Liam was blessed with so many gifts from cars & trucks, crayons, paints, balls, he really got spoiled by his friends this year. Liam enjoyed the party but got overwhelmed at times with all the people we did have quiet a crowd. All around it was a special day for both Liam & Reagan.

Liam The Book Worm

Liam has been reading lots of books this summer with Mommy. We go to the library every Monday for storytime and we check out  books to read every week. Liam participated in the summer reading program this summer. With Mommy's help he read 20 books in only 1 month! He was awarded a certificate, a new book, and gift certificates to Chick fila & whataburger. It's fun to read with Liam every night. He's learned lots of new words and has even learned to count to 10! I'm so proud of him.
