Liam's 3rd Birthday!

Liam turned the big 3 on August 29th! We had a fun day celebrating all day. We were so blessed to have Grammy here to celebrate and spoil Liam with lots of love and throwing him a great Cars themed party! It was one of the hottest days of the year ( 107 degrees!!! OUCH) We had his party at a park luckily it was shady and we were able to start a little early at 9:30 a.m. and ended it early at 11 a.m. to beat the TX heat! We had games, crafts, cake and we ended the party with a bike race! Liam had fun. Although he wasn't too happy during the singing of happy birthday he cried and was a bit overwhelmed by all the attention of his 13 friends who came. BUT overall we had a fun time. Next year I'll have to make some changes and will definitely have it inside. We did have some drama when my Mom left the party to pick up balloons and got stuck in traffic and missed the entire party. She also had my camera and the cake knife so I couldn't take pictures and had no idea how to cut the cake. Thanks to the moms they took pictures for me and one friend even let me use her camera for the day so I could get some pictures. Also my Mom had the knife to cut the cake so we had to try to cut the cake with a plastic fork..yes very annoying but we were able to cut the cake. Things could have been worse. Being 7 months pregnant was hard in the heat also. I had spray bottles on the tables to keep me and everyone cool. So you'll see that Liam & I look wet its not sweat its just from us spraying ourselves with the spray bottles. Another day that we will never forget and will be talking about in the future. The fun didn't stop there. We had a family party for Liam in the evening. Liam had his favorite Pizza for dinner then we sang happy birthday and had cupcakes. He did much better at the second go around no tears. We then opened all his presents (which took most of the evening until his bedtime) thanks to Liam's sweet friends and family he was blessed with so many fun toys!

Crafty Liam

I try to do my best to keep Liam busy. I have always loved making crafts since I was a little girl. I remember how much fun I had making crafts with my Mom that I want to pass along the same special memories to Liam. Now that Liam is almost 3 years old I have to admit its getting more fun! I find the crafts I can now choose are a lot more hands on for him to do. He loves to finger paint, color and use the glue stick. I hope to introduce scissors sometime soon. I'm sure he'll do just fine he's very good at picking things up quickly.

I thought I'd post some of his crafts he's made starting with the most recent to back when he first started around 18 months or so. Enjoy!!

June 24 2011 we celebrated the premiere to the sequel of Liam's favorite movie... CARS 2!

Liam went to the movie theater for the first time and saw an early showing of the movie. But before Liam did a few fun crafts to celebrate!







Liam likes to paint with water colors too.





Spring Birds Nest March 2011
Liam loved making this bird nest. It was so easy and fun! We just painted a small paper plate, added glue and yarn and made the birds out of puff balls and glued "gu gu eyes" (as Liam calls them) and a beak.

Ground Hog Day Feb. 2011
It was a very cold winter so we tried to keep warm inside and made lots of crafts. One of my favorites was this Ground Hog pop up we made. It was so cute! Liam also made a little ground hog out of a toilet paper roll. Liam named him Sammy.







Christmas 2010 Liam made lots of crafts. Two of my favorites were his first Christmas ornament he made with pom poms & this cute wreath. I also made an advent calendar for Liam this year using little stockings. I numbered them 1-25 and had an activity for each day. I also put a matchbox car in each stocking as a prize. It was a hit and I plan to continue it for years to come.
