Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was very laid back and relaxing. I don't think we got out of our PJs all day. We stayed at home just the four of us and we loved spending time with each other. We ordered a Turkey, stuffing, and apple pie from our favorite restaurant Bill Millers BBQ. I made corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. It was so delicious! We woke up early and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. I ate my favorite clam dip. I think Thanksgiving is Blake's favorite holiday so far since he loves to eat and can eat non stop if we let him. Liam on the other hand always picks at his Thanksgiving dinner hardly eats it. So funny how the boys are so opposite.

Our festive table. Since the boys are so young  and it's just us we usually make the table very kid friendly.

We had a fun activity table cloth & cute paper plates & napkins
Liam's adorable handprint placemat he made in preschool
So cute! Can't wait to keep this for years to come for Liam to see when he gets older

Green Bean Casserole
Bill Miller's BBQ Stuffing so yummy!
Corn Casserole
Yummy Bill Miller BBQ Turkey. Precooked just needs to reheat for 1 hour.
They smoke the Turkeys instead of baking them.

Downtown Christmas Tree Lightning

Tonight was our town's annual downtown Christmas Tree Lighting event. We were so excited to be able to attend this year since this was our first year to go. Chris was able to come along for a short time until he had to head back to work. It was lots of fun. The boys enjoyed the lights and decorations. It's so weird though to have it at such an early time in November before Thanksgiving but the down does a great job. They had  a band and singers and a count down to the lighting. Santa Claus came riding in a fire truck which the boys LOVED! Lots of excitement now for the Holidays to start.

Austin Moody Theater - Styx Concert

Tonight was a Blast! Chris and I went to Austin, TX to the famous Moody Theater to cover the band Styx in concert.

Chris interviewed the band and was invited to come take pictures of show. Since we had media passes were able to sneak in before the show and Chris was on the floor taking pictures. I love going to concerts and it really reminded me of my days working as a public relations director at an entertainment venue. I got to meet their public relations intern who was really sweet. We really hit it off great! Talking to her I had flashbacks from when I was an intern back in the day.  She asked me a lot of questions about the business and we had fun sharing meet and greet stories, and funny stories about some the artist and bands crazy demands. It felt great to get out in the music world again. I realized that I do miss that work sometimes.

I'm not a big fan of Styx but Chris is a huge fan. They were very nice and put on an awesome show. Although I was disappointed they didn't sing my favorite song, "Mr. Roboto" but they did sing all their other big hits like "Come Sail Away" etc.

Chris has met Styx several times while working in LA as a publicist for Anthony Michael Hall and has always loved seeing them live. It was definitely a great night. We don't get out too much with Chris working evenings and me with the boys but luckily my Mom was in town and offered to watch the boys so we could go.

Hope to have more nights like this in the future.  I LOVE Austin It's a laid back, fun music city right up my alley. I'm blessed to live so close to such a famous music city!

Blake's 1st Hair Cut

Oh BOY Blakey did not not like getting his hair cut :( He screamed and screamed. We had to hold him down from trying to jump out of the car. He did look so handsome after though and he loved all the attention too! Grammy is visiting and came with us. So fun to have her there since she was there for Liam's first hair cut too! Fun memories to share with Blake when he gets older.
