Last Day of Preschool & Pre K Talent Show

Today was bitter sweet.. it's Liam's last day of Preschool. I can't believe the year is finished. It seemed like it went by too fast. Liam did wonderful I'm so proud of all that he learned and accomplished this year at school. We're so blessed to have him attend such a wonderful school and that he had an amazing teacher. Liam just loved her so much and she loved Liam.
To celebrate the last day of school the Pre-K put on a talent show. When I heard about this I thought it was a little much for preschoolers to get up on stage and perform. I wasn't sure if Liam would want to do it and did not know what he would like to do for his talent. He loves music and loves to sing but being that it's a Christian school I was not sure singing his favorite songs like Jenny 867-5309 or Will I am & Britney's Scream & Shout or Kiss Rock N Roll All Night would be appropriate. He loves singing but I just couldn't think of a song that would be appropriate. I then thought since he loves Math so much maybe he could do math problems on a chalkboard. When I asked him if he wanted to do math he said " No, people might get bored."(that was too funny!)  So I thought again really hard and one Sunday at church Liam won an award for memorizing all his bible verses for the month in one week. Liam has really liked learning his bible verses and getting rewards in his sunday school class. So I asked him if he'd like to say a bible verse for his talent and he smiled really  big and "Yes, that would be fun!' So I asked him to think about what verse he wanted to say and he said with no hesitation "Psalm 12:7." So we  began rehearsing it. I was happy he picked that one it was short and sweet and we added a cute little ending.
He was awesome practicing at home and at church in front of this friends in Bible school but he got shy when I asked him to practice at school in front of his class. His teacher said if he didn't do it it was okay. So the big day came and I gave his teacher notes just in case to help coach him. He waited really patiently since he was next to last person to go. He stood right up on the stage and said his bible verse perfectly. I was so proud of him. He was nervous and said it in his low nervous voice he uses but he said it and surprised his teacher so much. But I wasn't too surprised.  I knew he could do it. He's such a sweet and loving guy. I really think he enjoyed watching all of this classmates do their talent and realized if they can do it so can I.

Kops 'N Kids Event - Liam WON!

Today was such an exciting day I can't begin to describe how much fun we had! We all went to the Kops 'N Kids Event today in the park. It was put on by our town's police department to educate the community about safety. There was lots of fun activities for the kiddos like games, prizes, free hot dogs, chips & ice cream. Lots of booths set up offering educational info about child safety etc. The fire department was there with all their fire trucks and ambulances. The police also had several different police cars. Liam was in heaven! He LOVES police cars and the police officers so this was such a special day for him. He had a blast meeting the fire fighters and police officers and looking at the fire trucks and police cars. They also had a police dog demonstration which was really cool. Blake enjoyed it too! He loves cars and trucks and he loved playing the games and winning prizes and of course he loved eating the ice cream.

The big finale of the event is the police department & Walmart have a raffle and give away 90 kids bicycles. When we heard about this we thought this was awesome because Liam just started to enjoy riding his tricycle recently when it broke on him a week ago.  He cried when It happened and was so devastated. We were sad too because we just don't  have the money to buy him a new one right now with the way our finances have been. It's been rough. I've been trying to find a job and have had no luck and we have had such a hard time trying to make ends meet. I thought it would be great if either of the boys won a bike but I knew the chances were slim since there were thousands of people there and we never have any luck with raffles. But we thought It was worth a shot so we stayed for
the day and waiting around for the raffle.

They went in order starting with the younger kids Blake's age. We waited for a while then we heard the man call out numbers and looked at our tickets. Nothing matched. Poor Blake didn't win. We were disappointed but we knew he was young. We began to wait and see if Liam would be next. We waited for what seemed like forever. Reading the numbers and nothing matched. Just when we thought well it was a good try we heard the man call out Liam's number on his ticket!!! Liam WON a BIKE!!!! It was so amazing!!!! Chris jumped up and picked up Liam and they ran up to the front and the wheeled a beautiful Spiderman bike to Liam. He was so happy!! He didn't know what to think at first. Chris explained to him he won the bike it's his to take home and Liam just had the biggest smile and said " I won I won I won a bike!" Tears began to stream down my face I just couldn't believe it. God had provided for us and loved us and wanted Liam to have that bike. It amazes me every time when I see the work of God in my life. Liam deserved to win that bike. No boy is more deserving. He is such a sweet, loving boy who deserves the very best. Chris and I were speechless leaving the park that day. We had no idea how we were going to fit this bike in our little car but that was a problem we felt blessed to have! While walking to the car Liam rode his bike and was yelling to everyone " I won a Spiderman bike I won it!" Everyone was so sweet and congratulated him and made him feel so special.
What a special moment it was and I can't begin to thank the police and fire department in our town for putting on such a wonderful event for the children in our community! So blessed!

Teacher Appreciation Day!

Today was Teacher Appreciation Day. Liam showed some love to his teacher Mrs. Williams and made a special gift for her.

We filled a mason jar with M&Ms and wrote a cute poem thanking her for being Liam's teacher. It was adorable and she loved it!

Liam also gave her a funny gift. A box of pudding with his picture on it that said "Thanks for pudding up with me." Such a cute idea I found on pinterest.

Liam had fun making the gifts and it was great for him to learn to appreciate his teacher. We are so blessed he has such a wonderful teacher we all love and appreciate her so much!

Liam's Plant & New Homeschool Calendar!

Liam was so proud of the plant he planted at preschool! His preschool class was learning about plants and how they grow. So Liam planted a bean at school and it grew and was the biggest in the class! He did such a great job!

I'm happy the plant was cared for at school because now that it is home and for me to care for I'm sure it won't be long before I kill it. I'm horrible with plants they always die on me. Until that happens we are going to enjoy it!

Liam's new obsession is with calendars. Since he loves numbers I'm not surprised of new love for calendars. He had one we hung on his wall but he always took it down and it got ripped up. So I found on Amazon a regular school calendar made for a classroom bulletin board. I thought this would be perfect in the playroom to hang on the wall and we can use it for our days homeschooling and every morning go over the month, day, date, season and weather. He absolutely LOVES it! It was a lot of work laminating all the pieces and putting it together. I feel for teachers who do this kind of stuff all the time. It was so time consuming and annoying at times to cut out everything and store it. But it was so worth it because Liam loves it. Blake also like to join us for calendar time and likes to help us change the calendar each day!
